8U Boys/Girls

The 8U Girls and Boys program was developed to continue player development in a fun yet competitive environment.

Season start and end dates	We expect the first games to be on September 8, 2018. The season usually ends around mid-November
Division Age	Player's Birth Year is 2011/2012.Spring 8U is combined 7U and 8U - Non COED
Time Commitment	Practices: There is one weekday practice for a max of 1 hour. Duration of Game: Four 10-minute periods. Halftime break of 5 minutes.
Standings	Standings are not kept for this division.
Player Equipment	Each player will be given a uniform which consists of a jersey, shorts and socks. The player must provide soccer cleats, shin guards and a size3 ball. note: every player must wear shin-guards or they can not participate in any practices or games. Also, socks must be worn over the shin-guards.
Coach Certification Requirements	1. Completed AYSO Volunteer Form(must be updated annually) 2. Safe Haven (Online) 3. CDC Concussion (Online) 4. 8U Coach Certified Click here for Instructions Note: The above certifications are needed weather you are the Head Coach or Assistant Coach
All other Volunteers	1. Completed AYSO Volunteer Form(must be updated annually) 2. Safe Haven (Online)(one time online class, unless AYSO updates it and mandates that we take the new course) Click here for Instructions note: this includes Team Parent and any other volunteer activity you may volunteer for.
The Players:	· Numbers for Boys:Five per team on field; No goalkeepers. Seven maximum on roster. · Numbers for Girls:Five per team on field; No goalkeepers. Seven maximum on roster. · Substitutions: Between periods, at halftime and for injuries. · Playing Time: Minimum of three periods per game and no player should play four periods until everyone has played three. · Teams: Separate girls and boys teams.
Location	Practice/Game Location - Cooks Cordova Field (28398 Calle Arroyo, SJC)
Awards	All players will receive a participation medal.
Heading Rule	No Heading the Soccer Ball at this Division
Safety	· No ear rings can be worn during practices and games. · No bracelets or wrist bands can be worn during practices and games (Except Medical Bracelets can be worn).
