COVID Protocol

PHASE ONE - Training opportunities

EVERYONE

  • Healthy Participants Only: Any players, coaches, spectators who are sick will not be allowed at practices/scrimmages/games.
  • At risk individuals, youth, or adult, STAY HOME

COACHES

  • Player temperature must be taken prior to participation in sessions.
  • Players with a temperature of 101.5 degrees and above will not be able to attend the session that day.
  • Coaches are required to wear mask during practice sessions.
  • Assign a 'station' for each player to place their equipment and to sit during breaks
  • Only coaches should place and pick-up cones
  • Practice Vests/Pinnies; These must be washed after each use.
    • Recommend issuing each player their individual practice vest
  • No centralized hydration or refreshment stations.
  • Recommend having sanitizing options available. This may include:
    • Hand sanitizer
    • Disinfectant wipes to wipe down all equipment
  • Individual training and technical activities are encouraged
  • Physical contact should be minimized.
  • No more than 9 participants per specified area and coach supervision.
  • Social distancing should be maximized.
  • Practice times should be set to maximize social distancing.
  • Activities that may create opportunity for an individual to encounter another's equipment are allowed. This would include
    • headers
    • throw-ins
    • etc.
    • all equipment should be disinfected immediately after all training sessions
  • Controlled, short- sided games within each team dynamic are allowed
  • Teams and players must not participate in out-of-state games and tournaments

PLAYERS

  • Each player must have their own ball and equipment
  • No one is to share water, towels, or any other equipment. This includes, but not limited to:
    • Shoes
    • Socks
    • Shin Guards
    • Jersey/Uniform
  • Players are required to wear a mask to and from their training area. 
  • Players are encouraged to wear a mask while participating in drills/scrimmage/games.
  • Teams and players must not participate in out-of-state games and tournaments

PARENTS/SPECTATORS

  • Spectators are limited to immediate household members and for the purpose of age-appropriate supervision.
  • Spectators are limited to ensure physical distance can be maintained, reduce potential crowding, and maintain outdoor capacity limits. 
  • Spectators are required to wear a mask at all times. 
  • Parents/guardians must have on file with the Region a signed COVID-19 release indicating their understanding and acknowledgement of the risk indicated herein.

REFEREES

  • Referees are required to wear a mask to and from the fields, and are encouraged to wear a mask during the game.
  • AR’s shall use their own equipment (No sharing of equipment between referees).
  • No handshakes 

PHASE TWO - Return to Games

EVERYONE

  • Healthy Participants Only: Any players, coaches, spectators who are sick will not be allowed at practices/scrimmages/games.
  • At risk individuals, youth, or adult, STAY HOME

COACHES

  • Coaches are required to wear mask during practice sessions and games.
  • Player temperature must be taken prior to participation in sessions/games
  • Regular training sessions can be held.
  • Games may be played against Area 11L teams only.
  • Teams cannot play more than one game per day.
  • No handshakes 
  • No centralized hydration or refreshment stations.
  • Teams and players must not participate in out-of-state games and tournaments.

PLAYERS

  • Players are required to wear a mask to and from their training area. 
  • Players are encouraged to wear a mask while participating in drills/scrimmage/games.
  • No one is to share water, towels, or any other equipment. This includes, but not limited to:
    • Shoes
    • Socks
    • Shin Guards
    • Jersey/Uniform
  • No handshakes 

PARENTS/SPECTATORS

  • Spectators should be from the immediate household, must wear a mask and stay within household groups.
  • Social distancing should be maximized as appropriate and available.
  • Spectators should not arrive earlier than 10 minutes prior to practice/scrimmage/game and should leave immediately after.
  • No centralized hydration or refreshment stations.

  • Referees are required to wear a mask to and from the fields, and are encouraged to wear a mask during the game.
  • AR’s shall use their own equipment (No sharing of equipment between referees).
  • No handshakes
