AYSO PLUS Program

The AYSO Plus (AP) program is designed to give AYSO players an opportunity to participate in a more competitive level of soccer play. To participate in the AYSO Plus program, interested AYSO players must participate in the AP tryouts. At the tryouts potential players will be evaluated by a group of  independent observers and  Region 87's AP coaches from the various age groups.

Any and all AYSO registered players are welcome to tryout. Even if a player should not qualify for the AP program based on the observations of the evaluators, they will participate in the regular or "league" fall soccer program in Region 87.

AP is an inter-Regional, inter-Area league. There is travel involved; approximately half of an AP team's matches will be played at home, here in San Juan. The other matches will be played throughout the Orange county area, Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley etc.

Potential AP coaches must go through a similar process of selection before they are given an AP team to coach. Coaches are interviewed by Region 87's Board of Directors, they must hold an Advanced coaching certificate and they must be a badged and active AYSO referee.
